At the end of 1700 Peter the Great issued a law forbidding men to grow a beard and ordering the cut to those who still wore it. This measure was part of a new vision of the Tsar who wished to westernize Russia. The beard was associated with the barbarians and considered obsolete and vulgar. Those who wished to keep it had to pay a hefty tax. As receipt of the payment, the bearded man received a silver coin which Manuel, after 300 years, wanted to faithfully replicate. The jewel is made of burnished and antiqued 925 Sterling Silver. The chain is available in two lengths.
Also available in the Bronze version. The chain is always in 925 Sterling Silver.
The weight of the jewel is indicative and refers to a central size, for this reason it can vary considerably.
Measures: 25 mm. diameter of the Coin
Weight: 9,5 gr.
