The Cross According to Manuel Bozzi: From Minimalist Gothic to the Symbol of Symbols

There is perhaps no symbol older or more widely interpreted than the cross.

In the world, Manuel Bozzi takes on a different persona each time: here we discuss two of them, at opposite ends of the same spectrum.

Crossmini: Gothic Style in Miniature

CROSSMINI

Crossmini is a compact cross—just 15 mm—but by no means minimalist in character. Small studs and a central stone embellish it, while the burnished finish of the 925 silver enhances its Gothic flair: this is not an aesthetic added as an afterthought, but the piece’s defining feature right from the design stage.

At the center, there are three options: a Burmese ruby, a Colombian green emerald, or a Ceylon blue sapphire—each capable of completely transforming the character of the cross, from intense red to deep green to midnight blue.

The Precious Cross: The Symbol of Symbols

LA CROCE PREZIOSA

If Crossmini is the synthesis, La Croce Preziosa is the expansion, the symbol of symbols.

Measuring 52x36 mm, it is the largest and most elaborate cross in the collection, entirely adorned with burin engravings that cover every centimeter of its burnished and polished surface. Five gemstones are available—Mozambique Garnet, London Blue Topaz, Onyx, Amethyst, and White Zircon—each capable of completely transforming the piece’s character, from understated to vibrant.

LA CROCE PREZIOSA

28 grams with a 60-cm chain: a statement piece, designed for those who want to wear the cross as a statement, not just as an accessory.

Two crosses, same philosophy

Compact and gothic, or large and precious: Crossmini and La Croce Preziosa represent two contrasting ways of interpreting the same symbol, yet they share the same foundation: handcrafted 925 sterling silver, burnished to highlight every detail, never left unadorned.

In the Manuel Bozzi collection, the cross is never just an object. It is a language that repeats itself, transforms, and changes in both material and size while always remaining recognizable. Those who love powerful symbols will find, in these two pieces, the extremes of what the cross can become—and if they seek other interpretations, the collection offers even more: from the Sacred Nail to the Queen of Dune cross, all the way to the Levante pendant.

Project Materia: When Silver Returns to Its Rawest Form

There is a way of working with silver that focuses on detail, and a way that follows instinct. In 2015, Manuel Bozzi gave shape to the latter with a project of his own: Materia. Bold lines sculpted into the sil...
